THERE WERE POSITIVES

Two referees different calls. Two teams and different outcome.

Preparation is no guarantee of achieving the desired results that one seek. In essence all it does is allow one to be entirely competitive in whatever discipline whilst performing at maximum efficiency and potential.

Each referee made calls that spectators and coaches alike were not in agreement with. Not questioning right nor wrong but lack thereof in consistency. A very important lesson to be learned here, two personal interpretation  of the rules give conflicting outcomes. Somethings our boys will have to get accustomed to as they grow and develop into adulthood. Just a difference in perspective and not personal.

From all indications team Blue mastered the high pressure on the opponent's in both games effectively to the detriment of their opposition. They also impressed with covering for each other when a teammate made a forward run.  Moving the ball quickly and accurately giving rise to some individual brilliance. In the first game the boys were ok with sharing the goals. The second game was the waking up of the giants. The opponents scored first then it became the Amrit and Tayvin show with Amrit bagging a hat trick while Tayvin helped himself to four.

Team white didn't bask in similar glory, not by choice. Could it be possible they played better opponents or didn't press with enough conviction?  I have no proven knowledge for their outcome. At times they played with high intensity just missing great chances to score. In my opinion team white boys were too reluctant in shooting the ball. Maybe not playing Futsal for some of these boys played a vital role in the outcome. Luka with his wealth of experience playing Futsal was a genuine miss. Tayshaun M plus Fateh sat out majority of the second game which proved crucial as well.

Sunday I was not in attendance but I heard it through the grapevine, that four players were injured from Saturday's festival and did not play,  however, it was a great team effort as Mapola got disseminated with Tremaine scoring four and Marco a brace.

From all indications the coaching staff must have been taking mental and physical notes as it relates to how the team will play in the Ontario Futsal Cup.

A great preparation especially for our defensive quartet as they start training with TFC.
