STRIKERS STRIKE AGAIN

Firstly, let me extend congrats to coach Joe and coach Marco for the splendid job in the absence of coach Chris.

Honestly, I don't know where to begin as it was highly entertaining and exciting in the same breath. The first quarter was totally Ethan's show, speed, quickness and deadly finishing only to be missed by mom Mavis.

Coach Joe realized that the opponent's challenge was not forthcoming, so he decided to experiment with formation and players in different positions. Tayvin was slotted into the center forward position. Seeing him in a break away heading towards goal our contingent of supporters started cheering loudly for him to score. The moms went wild when he eventually did. While, dad Delroy tried to hide his excitement by keeping his head held down.

Seeing how the boys are interchangeable between position tells me how versitile the squad is... for example Gianluca playing as a left defender. Our domination was evident based upon the score. Is it because the opponents are not at our level, or the Strikers are superior because of training and coaching provided?

Tremaine, Isaiah, Marco, Anthony, Amrit and Maximas also added to the humiliation and disappointment of the opponent's parents personal view of their coaching staff. Seated beside a parent of the opponent's team, he showered our boys with praises and the fact that he could hear our coach giving instructions to the boys and that really impressed him. His wife gave a suggestion that Cristian could bring his homework and complete it there as he seems so relaxed.

Seeing Jordan fire a powerful right footed shot on net was more than a pleasant sight for his OPDL debut (welcome back Jordan). It appears the boys are running a relay race for injuries as Fateh is now on the injured list. We continue to support Chris in his timely recovery.

All those who were present got treated to some laughter, fun filled moves, and goals galore.
The team didn't disappoint in the head coach absence. Continue to support the Woodbridge Strikers OPDL U13 boys team as they go 7:0.

  2. Having such a significant lead it was great to see the coach making some positional changes, allowing defenders to play forward and strikers playing defense.
Cheering for those who normally wouldn't get a chance to score was very exciting.

  3. Hmmm, very dissapointed to have missed the first 20mins of the game. Thus, missing Ethan's goals. I agree it was a fun game to watch. It was nice to see the boys play different positions. The opponents were definitely not at the same level as the strikers.
    Well done boys.
