WILL THIS PERFORMANCE BE DUPLICATED OR IMPROVED ON ?

Wiithout question Saturday's game proved to be in my opinion one of the best team game,  the best for some players and at the same time showcased the best possible ball movements for some time.

Again the coaching staff were hampered by injured and missing player ( Ethan and Tayshaun M).  I am trying as best as I can to recall if and when they had a completely healthy squad to select from.

The last two games against SC Toronto were very competitive resulting in 1:0 and 2:1 wins for Strikers. Anticipation of a more favourable result this occasion on the traveling supporters part was truly understandable. Their videographer believed so, who, by the way is the goal keepers coach.

The first quarter started off with a dazzling array of passing and moving with and without the soccer ball. The attacking duo of Tremaine and Isaiah moved with such synchronization they totally had the opponent's defense utterly mesmerized. Cristian was at his impeccable best in starting the play out from the back. The three defenders ball control was exquisite throughout the entire game and it didn't matter who was inserted in there. Switching of play by the holding midfielder could be compared to a conductor of a symphony orchestra... Tayvin only needed a baton. We did sixteen touches before loosing the ball in one sequence. It was a quarter of domination without a goal.

In the second quarter players were subbed out and in creating a change of position for some players. Isaiah slotted into the center of the park and with immediate effect. He switched play from right to left catching the opponents completely by surprised which allowed a beautifully timed pass to coincide Nicholas's stride, who hammered a low pile driver on net. The SC Toronto keeper made a brilliant save right in the path of lurking Daniel who dispatch with thanks.

The domination continued for all four quarters with Tremaine and GianLuca each netting a goal.
Again it was fantastic seeing Tayvin playing as a striker even though the ball was rarely passed to him... unfamiliar territory for his teammates I guess.

Great seeing coach Chris patrolling his technical area giving out instructions, while coach Joe from his vantage position explaining away how to best beat the half side trap to our baffled front line players.

Not wanting to be a spoiler, but I don't believe another player should call out his team mates publicly on the field of play when there is a error. Not all players  possess the same skill set, ie: speed, quickness and versatility. Each individual player is at a different level I would imagine from the personal assessments.

The home crowd supporters went home feeling particularly pleased about the overall performance. Well done Woodbridge Strikers U13 boys.
13-1-1 ⚽ 🥅
