IT WAS TRULY A CLASSY PERFORMANCE

Coach Chris arrived looking very focused and coach Joe was rather meticulous in his workout with the goal keeper. The intensity began before a ball was kicked in the third and final game against Richmond Raiders for true bragging rights. The verbal briefing by the Woodbridge Strikers coaching staff was done behind closed doors, out of hearing range from lurking opponents.

The Strikers had a swagger of confidence about them at the kick off. Their team play in the first quarter definitely endorsed such mannerisms. Today should have been the coaches assessment, because without a doubt they would have passed with flying colours. The level of execution in terms of passing and getting balls out onto the flanks with timely forward runs was truly impeccable on the eyes as a observer. Strikers closed down all possible outlet that Raiders imagined, like magnet onto iron. After a series of combination passes the ball was tucked away by Tremaine for a more than deserving lead.

In the absence of Tayshaun B, someone else had to adapt the midfield enforcer role. I don't know if it is the knowledge that Strikers are going back to the Southampton Tournament which sparked everyone into playing as a enforcer regardless of their position.  There were some dazzlingly individual brilliance in the game today.  On the other hand, they also epitomized the "TEAM" concept, by playing Together, Encouraging each other, Assisting both in offense and defense and everyone benefits More.

Raiders custodian tried his endeavor best to keep his team within close proximity on the score sheet, by some unbelievable save at times example... saving Tayvin's free kick.

Even Cristian got jealous and decided to participate in today's game and so doing made three crucial and timely saves in quick succession. There were other saves that might have been more spectacular but not at such a critical moment that could have influence the outcome of the game based upon momentum. Please Mr. Keeper don't scare your mom like that again with your clearance.

Fateh's grandfather said that he truly enjoyed watching the game today as the boys did what he saw them do in practice. I concur entirely A+. Against Raiders two wins and one draw.

Woodbridge Strikers, playing soccer is a privilege, because you are all healthy and able to do so right now. Continue enjoying every moment you get the opportunity to play. Seeing and hearing the parents smile and cheering tells me what it means to them. Our boys are doing something some only dream about and will never be able to achieve.

A complete team performance. Well done Woodbridge Strikers!!! 15 -1-1 ⚽ 🥅
